The Hammer Museum and the Metropolitan Museum of Art have partnered on an exhibit of the works by Italian painter, sculptor, and instillation artist Marisa Merz. This is the first retrospective exhibition of the artist’s work in the United States and brings together five decades of work. From her early experiments with non-traditional art materials to her mid-and late-career installations-the exhibit will explore the extraordinary talent and inspiration of the artist’s understudied body of work.
