The LACMA presents “Picasso and Rivera: Conversations Across Time”, an exhibit that highlights the moments of intersection in the formation of modernism in both Europe and Latin America and explores the artist’s engagement to their respective ancient Mediterranean and Pre-Columbian worlds. Furthermore, the exhibit aims to advance the understanding of Picasso and Rivera’s practice areas and focus on how each artist’s contributions were deeply influenced by forms, myths, and structures of the art of antiquity.
