It’s the perfect time of year to visit the La Brea Tar Pits! Explore the fossils of saber-toothed cats, dire wolves, and mammoths from thousand-year-old asphalt deposits, watch scientists prepare newly discovered fossils and see the iconic life-size replicas of extinct mammals in Hancock Park’s Pleistocene Garden. Visitors can even catch a 3D film of mammoths from the Ice Age or see the Ice Age Encounters show with a saber-toothed cat.
