La Cienega Design Quarter: Legends 2015

The La Cienega Design Quarters LEGENDS 2015 is one of the most anticipated design events in the U.S.  Having just concluded its seventh consecutive year, LEGENDS is a three day extravaganza of keynotes, cocktail parties, open houses, exhibitions, and networking with the top design editors, writers, and bloggers from throughout the country.  Attended by thousands of designers from around the world, LEGENDS is the largest event of its kind on the West Coast and is a prominent fixture on the national design event calendar.  GOLD METROPOLITAN MEDIA is thrilled, as always, to provide the  richly designed street banners for this renowned event.

City of West Hollywood: Election

On Tuesday, June 2, 2015, the City of West Hollywood will hold a Special Municipal Election. This will allow the Citizens of West Hollywood to elect one (1) member to the City Council to fill the current vacancy.  The last day to register to vote for the June 2, 2015 has passed; however you may register to vote for future elections at www.lavote.net.  GOLD METROPOLITAN MEDIA’s banners all over West Hollywood are getting the word out.  VOTE!

California Science Center: Dead Sea Scrolls

The California Science Center in cooperation with the Israel Antiquities Authority, is proud to present the largest Dead Sea Scrolls exhibition ever mounted outside of Israel and they’ve chosen GOLD METROPOLITAN MEDIA to blanket the city of Los Angeles with banners incorporating exclusive art work to announce this once-in-a-lifetime exhibit.  This special exhibition explores the science and significance of the Dead Sea Scrolls, manuscripts written and hidden in caves 2000 years ago and not discovered until 1947. The exhibition also features sections from 10 selections of the Dead Sea Scrolls, more than half never seen before in the U.S., including parts of the oldest known copies of the Hebrew Bible, also known as the Old Testament.   The exhibit opens March 10, 2015.  Don’t miss it.

Center Theatre Group: Cinderella

GOLD METROPOLITAN MEDIA was called upon by the Center Theatre Group to create the beautiful eye-popping city light pole banners that herald the arrival of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s “Cinderella” to The Ahmanson Theatre at The Music Center March 17 – April 26, 2015.  Be  transported back to your childhood as you rediscover some of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s most beloved songs, including “In My Own Little Corner,” “Impossible/It’s Possible” and “Ten Minutes Ago,” in this hilarious and romantic Broadway experience for anyone who’s ever had a wish, a dream… or a really great pair of shoes.  Get your tickets today.

Colburn School

The Colburn School is a performing arts school located in the heart of downtown Los Angeles, neighboring Walt Disney Concert Hall, The Music Center, the Museum of Contemporary Art, and the Broad Museum. The acclaimed faculty provides students of all ages with the highest quality performing arts education, which includes a multitude of performance opportunities in a state-of-the-art facility.  GOLD METROPOLITAN MEDIA installed city light pole banners all around the school to raise awareness to this important institution.

Music Center’s 50th Anniversary

The Music Center continues its long standing relationship with GOLD METROPOLITAN MEDIA by using GMM once again to produce and install city light pole banners celebrating The Music Center’s 50th anniversary year.  The Music Center is one of the largest and most highly regarded performing arts centers in the country.  For 50 years, The Music Center has served as a cultural hub that is central to Los Angeles’ status as “the creative capital” of the world.  It is home to four world-class resident companies—Center Theatre Group, LA Opera, LA Phil, and the Los Angeles Master Chorale.

Natural History Museum: Grandes Maestros

The Natural History Museum is pleased to host the U.S. debut of the extraordinary traveling exhibition Grandes Maestros: Great Masters of Iberoamerican Folk Art, Collection of Fomento Cultural Banamex.  GOLD METROPOLITAN MEDIA is pleased to provide and install city light pole banners reflecting this important cultural exhibit. Grandes Maestros brings together hundreds of folk art masters from across 22 countries to showcase modern culture, religion, and traditions through a celebration of beauty and power. Crafted by the best living artisans in the world, these more than 1,200 pieces tell the modern day stories of communities across Mexico, Central and South America, Spain, and Portugal.  The exhibit runs through September 13, 2015.

The Annenberg Space for Photography: Sink or Swim

The Annenberg Space for Photography hosts Sink or Swim: Designing for a Sea Change, on view from until May 3, 2015.  Sink or Swim explores the human story of resilience, from adaptation for survival to ambitious infrastructure planning, in some of the richest and poorest of the world’s coastal communities. Rather than showing pristine architectural photography, the photographs present viewers with various human responses to changes in their landscapes due to sea level rise.  Sink or Swim aims to foster critical dialogue through the provocative juxtaposition of diverse responses to a challenge shared by millions worldwide.  GOLD METROPOLITAN MEDIA has the privilege of working with The Annenberg to provide light pole banners across the city announcing this thought provoking exhibit.

GRAMMY Museum: The Taylor Swift Experience

The GRAMMY Museum is pleased to present The Taylor Swift Experience through May 10, 2015.  Through never-before-seen personal photographs and home videos, interactive experiences, handwritten lyrics of the star’s top-charting hits, and iconic costumes, this one-of-a-kind exhibit gives visitors and fans an in-depth look at the multi-platinum selling artist as a singer, musician, songwriter, entrepreneur, and style icon.  GOLD METROPOLITAN MEDIA is pleased to provide one-of-a-kind city light pole banners to The GRAMMY Museum and The Taylor Swift Experience.

LACMA: Nature and the American Vision

New York comes to Los Angeles with Nature and the American Vision: The Hudson River School now on exhibit at LACMA through June 7, 2015.  Drawn entirely from the premier collection of The New York Historical Society, this exhibit features forty-five outstanding American landscape paintings from the nineteenth-century. Among the artists represented in the exhibition are the heroes of the American landscape movement: Thomas Cole, Asher B. Durand, and Albert Bierstadt, among others. Also included are lesser-known artists, some of whom helped the American landscape achieve recognition through the new democratic medium of prints and portfolios.  GOLD METROPOLITAN MEDIA continues its relationship with LACMA by providing light pole banners across Los Angeles for this extraordinary exhibit.
