Breeders’ Cup World Championships

La Brea Tar Pits

It’s the perfect time of year to visit the La Brea Tar Pits! Explore the fossils of saber-toothed cats, dire wolves, and mammoths from thousand-year-old asphalt deposits, watch scientists prepare newly discovered fossils and see the iconic life-size replicas of extinct mammals in Hancock Park’s Pleistocene Garden. Visitors can even catch a 3D film of mammoths from the Ice Age or see the Ice Age Encounters show with a saber-toothed cat. Natural History Museum: Spider Pavilion

Explore amazing arachnids at the Natural History Museum’s Spider Pavilion now open until December 11, 2016. The truly unique experience allows visitors to walk through the open-air pavilion and learn about the engineering that goes into each spider’s web. Visitors can walk through a maze of orb weavers and hear from gallery interpreters as they explore the spider den. GOLD METROPOLITAN MEDIA produced and installed brightly colored City Light Pole Banners to spread the word about the eight-legged architects.

LA Opera: Wonderful Town

The LA Opera presents three semi-staged concert performances of “Wonderful Town” at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion December 2-4, 2016. Leonard Bernstein’s “Wonderful Town” is a sassy love letter to the bright lights of the Big Apple. Two sisters move to New York to take the big city by storm in the search for love. Praised as one of the greatest treasures of Broadway’s Golden Age, “Wonderful Town” is a must see and so are the City Light Pole Banners GOLD METROPOLITAN MEDIA produced and installed advertising the show!

American Film Institute: AFI Fest 2016

AFI Fest 2016, presented by Audi, is the American Film Institute’s annual celebration of international cinema from modern masters and emerging filmmakers. Featuring nightly red-carpet galas, special screenings, and tributes, AFI Fest remains the first and only festival of its stature that’s free to the public. AFI Fest 2016 celebrates the American Film Institute’s 30th edition of Los Angeles’ longest-running international film festival and remains a showcase for the best festival films of the year. GOLD METROPOLITAN MEDIA is excited to continue its relationship with the American Film Institute to produce and install City Light Pole Banners for the Annual AFI Fest.

LACMA: Guillermo del Toro: At Home with Monsters

The LACMA presents “Guillermo del Toro: At Home with Monsters” from August 1st-November 27th. The exhibit explores the imaginative works of filmmaker Guillermo del Toro, famous for such films as Hellboy, Pacific Rim, and Pan’s Labyrinth. Taking inspiration from Del Toro’s imagination, the exhibit reveals the filmmaker’s creative process through paintings, drawings, and concept film art displayed thematically throughout the museum. The GOLD METROPOLITAN MEDIA team produced and installed City Light Pole Banners to spread the word about this exciting exhibit at the LACMA.

Natural History Museum: Butterfly Pavilion

The Natural History Museum features the new Butterfly Pavilion this fall. The Butterfly Pavilion, located just outside of the museum, features more flight space, resting spots, and natural light. Gallery Interpreters also explain why the over 30 butterfly species are so special. LA Opera: Macbeth

Shakespeare’s classic thriller, Macbeth, comes to the Los Angeles Opera. Blinded by ambition and spurred by his power-hungry wife, Macbeth commits multiple murders to attain and keep the throne of Scotland. The talented cast brings a powerhouse performance of electrifying vocals and propulsive energy. Natural History Museum: Pterosaurs

Jurassic Park fans and Dinosaur lovers alike are flocking to the Los Angeles Natural History Museum this summer to see the museum’s new exhibit. The “Pterosaurs” exhibit explores the diversity of the prehistoric kings of air during the era of dinosaurs. The exhibit features hands-on interactive apps, rare fossils, life-size Pterosaurs models, and a virtual flight lab that allows visitors to pilot their own Pterosaurs. GOLD METROPOLITAN MEDIA is excited to work with the Natural History Museum to spread the word on high-flying banners above city streets.

Center Theatre Group: A View From the Bridge

Center Theatre Group presents “A View From the Bridge” playing at the Ahmanson Theatre from September 7th-October 16th. Arthur Miller’s tale of a Brooklyn longshoreman obsessed with his 17-year-old niece, and his jealousy for her love for another, will leave audiences in awe. GOLD METROPOLITAN MEDIA is excited to work with the Center Theatre Group to create and install City Light Pole Banners to advertise the production of “A View From the Bridge”.
